The problem
Sri Lanka has tens of thousands of small and medium businesses doing genuinely good work. Many have no website. Some have a Facebook page and a phone number. Almost none have structured information anywhere online.
That matters more every year. When someone asks an AI assistant for a good restaurant in Kandy, or a laptop repair shop in Negombo, the answer comes from whatever the assistant can actually find and parse. A business with no structured record is effectively invisible in that conversation — no matter how good the business is.
What we do
LankaIndex gives every business a public, structured profile: name, category, location, services, contact details and verification status, in one consistent shape. The same data is readable by people, by search engines, and by AI systems.
Alongside the profiles, the community can discover and support the businesses it values. Support is not a purchase and not a review — it is a simple signal that a business matters locally, and it shapes what gets surfaced first.
